Join us in this constantly changing and extraordinary landscape to celebrate the future selves, homes and cities all re-imagined by children in the ArtScapers education programme. One hundred and fifty children from two local schools (Mayfield Primary School and the University of Cambridge Primary School) have worked as artists themselves, creatively exploring the programme themes of community, place, sustainability, ecology and archaeology with CCI artist Susanne Jasilek.
There will be a series of interactive displays of the children's work to explore across the site during the day. A film made by artist Ruth Proctor about her work 'we are all under the same sky' and how children are engaging with it in the University of Cambridge Primary School will also be screened.
And you too can get hands-on, playing with materials and ideas to create new future selves and buildings to place in the cityscape we will be shaping and re-shaping together as the day goes on.
Artist led educational resources, for working creatively with changes brought about by urban renewal, will also be launched on the day and available here on the North West Development Art Programme website.
The event is free and all are welcome. No booking required.
Drop in for half an hour or spend the day with us. Ice creams and refreshments available.
There is no parking at the site. Please arrive on foot or on bicycles or use public transport.
